The Fulltone Full-Drive 2 has always been a Tube-Screamer like Overdrive plain and simple till now. The original Full-Drive 2’s footswitchable Boost Mode was smart, but simply a way to switch between two different distortion settings on the fly. Although it worked nicely, it did not allow you a separate Volume level for each mode, making it a challenge to balance the two modes.

Enter the Full-Drive 2 V2
-Not only does V2 have a separate volume control for Drive 2 channel, it has a ton of clipping Modes including:
-Comp-Cut (CC), the warmer '90s version, which is anything-but transparent, and pummels your amp’s input.
-Vintage Mode (VIN) with its slightly asymmetrical, fat, warm sound.
-Flat-Mids (FM), the warmer, fatter FM from the late '90s/early 2000s.
-WIDE mode, more open, more bottom-end, more clarity.

Half-Clipped (HC) mode, where the bass notes are less distorted and the higher notes sing for days.
Features include a JRC4558 opamp, full-size audiophile-grade capacitors, internal battery cradle, 9-18VDC operation, a tiny bullet-proof steel enclosure, top-mounted jacks, and True-Bypass using our own Fulltone 3PDT footswitch.
This is the one pedal you could take to any session or gig and have every sound you’d need at your disposal.

  • 16-gauge cold-rolled steel enclosure
  • Based around the desirable JRC4558 chip and 1990s Full-Drive circuit, with 2 toggle switches for many more sonic options
  • 30% smaller than the FD2-MOS, 15% smaller than the FD3 at only 4.45" wide x 4" deep

This video is the world's first look at the Fulltone Full-Drive2 v2 Michael Fuller takes a long look at this pedal through the lens of a 1963 Gibson Lespaul SG--FD2v2---SSTE---1965 Deluxe Reverb--Mesanovic Ribbon mic---APi 512 preamp--Burl Audio Converters. There is no additional processing, EQ, or reverb added. Explanation of DRIVE 2 “channel.” Think of it as a "More" Channel.... Engaging the DRIVE 2 footswitch brings in the DRIVE 2 knob, allowing you to add distortion (in addition) to what's selected on the DRIVE 1 knob. At the same time, the pedal jumps from the (pedal’s main, large) VOLUME knob level setting to a higher level selected on the DRIVE 2 VOLUME (mini-knob.) Practical uses: #1) Use as a volume Booster (same Distortion setting, only louder): Set DRIVE 2 knob to "0" and set DRIVE 2 VOLUME mini-knob to taste #2) Use as a higher Gain lead tone with Volume Boost: set DRIVE 2 knob anywhere above "0" and DRIVE 2 VOLUME mini-knob to taste. Ideally you set DRIVE 1 for your lower-distortion sounds and DRIVE 2 for the higher distortion sound…effectively giving you 2 pedals.
