There’s a certain quality about some 60’s and early 70’s guitar tones that seem to be rather exclusive of that psychadelic era. If you hear Mick Ronson on Bowie’s Ziggy Stardust era (live in “Santa Monica ‘72” is great), Pink Floyd at The Piper at the Gates of Dawn or British blues masterpieces by The Yardbirds, Cream, Faces, Stones and so on, those searing and cutting guitar tones sound like they could rip one’s ear apart from his head! The funny thing: they don’t, and they sound great! Remember when some mop-topped kids met Dylan, grass, acid and grew up to change music forever?

Deep Trip: The Kryptone Fuzz - DEMO (07:48)
http://deeptripland.com/kryptone Deep Trip's Du Menegozzo is a fuzz freak. He has a passion for the older stuff and likes to improve on it where he believes improvement is needed. In the case of the Kryptone, which is based on the mid 60's Vox Tonebender, we get an external Bias control, pedalboard and wah friendliness, two very powerful tone controls, and enough volume on tap to allow the Kryptone's use as a booster of sorts. Of course, none of this would be much good if it didn't deliver in the old-school fuzz sound department, right? Well, it certainly does, and then some. The Kryptone, ladies and gents, rocks hard. Oh, and I did I mention the looks? Hellooo!! From the Kryptone Travel Guide: "Here is your new Kryptone. This pedal comes from years of continuous development over a core of first generation Vox Tone- bender (mid sixties), incorporating various upgrades and frequency adjustments to expand the available tones much beyond the cut- ting personality of narrow lows and vibrant highs of the original, with definitive solutions for all the problems of the vintage circuits. Unlike its predecessor, the Kryptone works with your typical 9V DC power supply, performs great with a wah-wah, doesn't fight with buffers or any other pedal and can adapt to any amplifier, vintage or new, without radical performance changes. Its controls allow not only the settings to numerous incredible tones from records of the past and future, from this and other planets, but also enable the perfect match of those sounds to your equipment and your ears (and let's not forget weakening the powers of Superman). Its exclusive laser cut carbon-steel enclosure houses sophisticated fiber glass circuit boards with plated-through holes, filled with high performance, low tolerance components that form an exclusive circuit, capable of doing much more of what "fuzz" usually means. Prepare yourself to be surprised, step on and enjoy the ride. Welcome to Deep Trip Land."
